Could you manage a prison?

The Prison Service is looking for talented and experienced managers

If you’re a manager with substantial people management experience, you might want to consider the Senior Prison Manager Programme. This development programme is designed to prepare experienced managers, with little or no previous experience of prisons, for senior management posts in prison establishments.

The development programme has been designed to support candidates on the operational aspects of managing a prison through prison-based experience, specific courses, coaching and mentoring. You will be given the operational grounding and development needed to take on the full range of duties undertaken by an in-charge Governor. Candidates will be expected to move into accredited Senior Operational Manager positions within two years of starting the programme. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirements, applicants must have at least four years experience in people management.

Managing a prison is a complex task, which requires confidence, resilience, a broad range of skills and above all, integrity.

Find out more at the Senior Prison Manager Programme website at www.changeitnow.co.uk or telephone 020 7246 8204 if you have any queries.
